Overview
Smash Design partnered with vfTV, a Vietnamese news station based in Los Angeles, to design and build a complete television set for their new Houston studio. The set needed to look modern and professional on camera while reflecting vfTV’s brand and holding up to daily production use — we delivered a custom studio build that covered both.
Process
We started by working directly with the vfTV team to understand their production goals and on-air style, which shaped the overall layout. From there we selected materials and finishes that would read clean on camera, and fabricated every component in-house to keep both quality control and the schedule on track.
We installed the finished set in the Houston studio ourselves, testing camera angles, lighting compatibility, and overall performance before handing it off.
Results
vfTV’s Houston branch launched with a polished, professional studio space and a set that actually improved the team’s daily production workflow, letting them film efficiently while keeping a consistent on-screen look.
