Overview
Smash Design created the interactive elements for Tacotopia, an immersive taco-themed pop-up experience. Inspired by attractions like the Color Factory and Illusion Museum, the exhibit blends playful sculptures and hands-on installations that visitors can touch, climb, and photograph.
This experience encourages exploration and interaction, giving guests fun ways to engage with taco-themed art throughout the space.

Process
To bring Tacotopia to life, we designed and built several interactive installations. First, we created a lime swing and avocado chair. Next, we sculpted a foam guacamole pit and a taco seesaw. Finally, we added additional playful elements for visitors to explore.
We used lightweight foam for sculpting and coated each piece for strength and vibrant color. Meanwhile, we ensured each installation was safe, stable, and ready for hands-on use.
We also planned the layout for maximum visual impact. In addition, every sculpture was positioned to create photo opportunities and memorable visitor experiences.

Results
The Tacotopia pop-up became a lively, interactive experience. Guests climbed, swung, and posed with every installation, creating shareable moments and memorable interactions.
By combining playful sculpture, hands-on design, and bright finishes, Smash Design delivered an exhibit that delights audiences of all ages. As a result, the space successfully engages visitors while amplifying the taco theme and encouraging social sharing.
