MSL ROVER MODEL

Space Center Houston recently asked us to design and construct a scaled version of the MSL Rover dubbed Curiosity. In order to construct this within the short time frame we had to procure a full 3d MSL model. We then began dissecting it down to the core components. The engineering behind this sci-fi robot is a modern day marvel.

Our model will be dropped down from the sky outside on NASA Space Centers Mars yard which we also built last year, it will happen during the infamous 7 minutes of terror due to the communication lag that engineers at JPL must undergo as they wait nervous wrecks for confirmation that MSL Curiosity touched down safely.

We will update this shortly with the progress, this first picture is just one of the 6 complex wheel linkages we have to reverse engineer, luckily it doesn’t have to meet JPL standards…

We recently finished phase 1 of our huge contract with the Maersk corporation. Commissioned to design, create, install and transform 5 of the 25 floors entirely at their new branch headquarters located in Houston, tx. We did everything from 30′ murals, custom hand painted framed art, 3d scaled model replicas of their equipment like their famous cargo ship which is currently the largest cargo ship in the world, we also built custom office furniture, designed their cafeteria, and a whole lot more… Legos were involved heavily too……

A huge elephant statue was sculpted from foam then fiberglass hard coated for the front office at a kids dental office.

Large sculpture bust of a rhino. We sculpted this big creature out of foam then hard coated him with a resin fiberglass mixture. Next he will be prepped for airbrushing. The idea behind this animal is to mount his head onto the wall as if he is busting through a brick wall.

Boreview technology contacted us because they wanted their logo reproduced into a 3D sign. We were the only company they were able to find that could reproduce their highly complex logo and convert it into a 3D sign for their main office.

Commissioned by the American Advertising Federation to build a 20′ tv
With a 1960′s feel for a Mad Men theme. This tv set we built was a stage display prop that actually had a real projection screen inside of it. So the TV actually functioned.
